Melchior Island

Hi Guys

Here are a few more pictures of the Melchior Islands. We went out in Zodiaks around 9pm. What a great place.

Other note: Skiing at Crystal Mountain was amazing on Saturday. Temperature was around 60 and some serious corn snow. The new Northway lift in the backcountry opened up an enormous amount of steep terrain. Well done. The daffidol festival 40 miles bicycle ride was quite nice this morning. Averaged 17.8 mph with hills and wind so I'm getting in shape for the Atlas Mountains.

7th Contintent

Hi Guys,

A litte more than a month until I reach Contintent 7, Mountain biking across the Atlas Mountians of Morroco. I did a 20 mile mountain bike race today as a training ride. I am pleased. I am starting where I left off when I raced in the 2005 Indie Series. We all all sorts of weather except snow...wacking weather today. Great course, twisty, muddy, sandy, hardpack, nasty slippery corners and a 2ft drop within the first 1/4 mile. The South Seatac course is excellent.

I am 85% done with my DVD of Antarctica. I have music and a slideshow/movie, but need to edit the chapter titles. Getting closer. Hope to have it done prior to going to Morocco.

Hi Guys,

Update: My webhosting service is calling it quits for mikewaring.com. Which means this site will have to be access from mikewaring.blogspot.com until I get another web hosting service set up. I have until mid April. I am keeping www.mikewaring.com though and hope to have a smooth transition to continue my email address @mikewaring.com.

On a side note, my next adventure is going to be with Bike Hike Adventures www.bikehike.com Mountain biking in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco which completes my goal of stepping foot on all 7 Continents.

I tried to put together a side trip to Timbukto, however there is a reason it is known for being way out in the middle of nowhere. Something about 20~40 hours on an Africa bus in the desert that needs a little more planning that hop-a-flight places. If anyone has experience getting to Timbukto, Mali please let me know.

If I got to Timbukto sometime, then I would have to go to outter Mongolia next to complete the way out of the way places.

Antarctica Bergs

Hi Guys,

With such an amazing beauty around you all the time while in Antarctica, going to eat could cost you seeing 4 whales go by the boat, ice bergs with penguin tracks on the, the sun peaking out revealing amazing glacieated peaks all around. Though I always looked forward to the 3 course amazing meals, it was hard to take in the beauty of Antarctica in 5 short days on down there. The days actualy had 23hours of daylight and 1 hour of alpenglow before sunrise.

Neko Harbor Antarctica

Neko Harbor. What an awesome place. The sun came out, mid 50's, and Antarctica showed its sun glazed glory. Hiking up to this point, we saw a small chunk of ice calf off the glacier. The wave was only a couple of feet, but based on the giant chunks of ice way up the beach, you could tell there were several giant ice chunks calf off. Enjoy

Southern Argentina
